Scenes from the Sioux-1 Pony Shoot.

“Sioux War Pony-1”.  In the permanent collection of the Smithsonian

National Museum of the American Indian.

For this shoot I travelled to Cannonball, ND. You may have read about the Standing Rock Reservation, Cannonball

and the Dakota Access Pipeline atrocity. A large blemish on the land and history.

Anyway Cannonball is near Ft. yates which is the seat of the Standing Rock Reservation on the western shore of the Missouri River.

I went to the Two Bears ranch and was helped by Karol Two Bears, her Uncle Tony, her sister Jaci and their good

friend Lisa Yellow Luger. They painted two horses and drove them at my camera. There are 3 different versions of art created

from the first horse that I’ve named “Sioux War Pony-1”.

On the ranch.

Lisa’s daughter Noelle waiting for us to get goin’

Painting horse # 2. Destined to be a large War Pony art piece.

The young ones with ponies they had painted.
